Gang/Org Rules
This page combines the criminal organization rules and the official gang handbook.
17. Criminal Organization Rules
Criminal organizations, such as gangs or syndicates, must operate within specific guidelines to ensure fair and realistic roleplay:
- Formation and Approval:
- Criminal organizations must be formed through proper roleplay and approved via a high-staff ticket.
- The number of members and territory of the organization must be defined and approved by staff.
- Gang War
- Once you've been flatbacked you're out of the war.
- Once all members of an organization have been flat backed the war is over (This is to prevent a war going on for weeks)
- Activities:
- Organizations are permitted to engage in illegal activities such as drug trafficking, robberies, and turf wars.
- All activities must be roleplayed realistically, and excessive violence or disruption of the server's economy is prohibited.
- Inter-Organization Conflict:
- Conflicts between organizations must be roleplayed with proper escalation and justification.
- Retaliation should be proportionate and avoid disrupting the broader server roleplay.
Gang Handbook
Take One RP Community
1. Introduction
Welcome to the official Gang Handbook for the Take One Roleplay Community. This document outlines the expectations, requirements, and procedures for starting and maintaining a gang within the server. All gang members and leaders are expected to read and understand this document thoroughly.
2. Gang Requirements (Starting a Gang)
To be recognized as a registered gang in the server, you must meet the following requirements:
-
Minimum Members: At least 5 active members, with unique character identities (not alternate characters).
-
Gang Leadership: A designated Gang Leader and at least one additional leadership role (e.g., Co-Leader, Enforcer).
-
Gang Name & Identity: A unique gang name, along with a clear theme or identity (e.g., street gang, cartel, outlaw club).
-
Gang Outfit or Branding: A recognizable outfit, color scheme, patch, or symbol to identify your gang in-character.
-
Roster Submission: A gang roster must be submitted to the admin team upon approval and updated regularly to reflect current members and ranks.
-
Gang Application: Submit a Gang Application to staff including:
-
Gang Name
-
Leadership Structure
-
Member List
-
Intended Criminal/Roleplay Activities
-
Any visual branding (logos, colors, etc.)
Once approved, your gang will be added to the official registry and granted appropriate permissions within the server.
3. Active Gang Criteria
To remain recognized as an active gang, you must meet the following standards:
-
Weekly Activity: At least 3 unique members must be active weekly in gang-related roleplay.
-
Roster Maintenance: An up-to-date gang roster must be maintained and submitted to the admin team when changes occur.
-
Leadership Participation: Gang leaders are expected to stay active, communicate with staff, and participate in events or storyline progression.
-
Meaningful RP: Your gang must engage in quality roleplay (e.g., deals, recruitment, turf wars, criminal operations).
-
Rule Compliance: Gangs must follow all server and gang rules consistently.
-
Inactivity Clause: Failure to stay active could result in gang removal and wipe from the city.
4. Gang Strikes System
To ensure quality and fairness within the server's gang ecosystem, a Gang Strike System is in place:
Strike Offenses Include (but are not limited to)
-
Metagaming or powergaming
-
Frequent rule breaking by multiple gang members
-
Poor or non-serious roleplay
-
Failure to update or maintain gang roster
-
Disrespect toward staff or other gangs OOC
-
Ignoring prior warnings or punishments
-
Using gang status to grief or troll
Strike Consequences
-
Strike 1: Formal warning and review meeting with gang leadership.
-
Strike 2: Temporary gang restrictions (e.g., limited activities, suspension from events).
-
Strike 3: Disbandment of gang and revocation of gang permissions. Members may be barred from forming or joining new gangs for a set time.
Strikes expire after 60 days if no new violations occur. Admins may escalate or reduce penalties based on severity.
Gang Rules
1. Gang Approval
- All gangs must be approved by server staff before operating.
- You must submit a gang proposal that includes your name, hierarchy, goals, colors, and turf.
- Unofficial gangs are not allowed to claim turf, participate in gang wars, gang shoot outs, or conduct organized crime until approved.
2. RP Standards
- Gangs must engage in quality roleplay; this means no RDM/VDM, excessive toxicity, or breaking character (OOC behavior) during RP.
- Use proper escalation. Don't go from words to guns without buildup.
- Gangs are expected to create unique storylines not just shootouts and robberies.
- This isn't Barney and Friends. Being over friendly as a Gang or Criminal Organization will result in you losing your status as a Gang or Criminal Organization
️ 3. Gang Size Limits
- Gang size limits depend on the number of active gangs in the city:
- 4 or less gangs = max 30 members per gang
- 6 gangs = max 40 members per gang
- 8 gangs = max 50 members per gang
- 10+ gangs = no cap
- All gang members must be listed on your official gang roster and admins must have a copy of the active roster list. If Gang size decreases due to less active gangs, staff will determine if you must cut members or cut recruiting, You may not use your size to bully anyone else.
Organizations will be limited to 15 max to make it fair for turf wars, etc
4. Turf & Territories
- Turf wars must be approved by staff and have valid RP buildup.
- Gangs may claim turf but must actively control and defend it.
- Turf claims must not overlap unless approved or part of an active conflict.
5. Gang Wars & Conflict
- Wars must be roleplay-driven not just shoot-on-sight.
- You must declare war through RP channels. Proof must be sent to us in a ticket. (e.g., meetings, messages).
- No exploiting war rules or baiting into combat without RP.
- War cool-downs are enforced. When a member of a gang is flat backed they're out of the war, if they attempt to rejoin the war admins may stop it or allow the rival gang to handle accordingly.
- Gang Wars shouldn't last more than 3 IRL Days without admin permission, this is to ensure fairness but also ensure that cross fire from outside the gang doesn't effect others
6. Illegal Activities
- Gangs may engage in:
- Drug production/distribution
- Weapons trafficking
- Robberies (banks, stores, people)
- Kidnappings/hostage RP
- Activities must be organized and RP-focused Random crime with no RP can result in warnings or strikes.
7. Alliances & Rivalries
- Gangs can form alliances but excessive teaming (e.g., 4 gangs vs 1) is not allowed and cannot be exploited (used all the time this is seen as way to bypass gang limits)
- All alliances must be declared to staff.
- Fake alliances for meta purposes are prohibited.
8. Communication & Meta
- Do not use OOC/Discord/Streams for in-game info (meta-gaming). You may have a gang discord, but one active Take One Admin must be in the discord with the ability to review possible meta gaming.
- All gang decisions and RP must happen in character
- No third-party comms in gunfights or during active RP unless it's in-game (radio, phone, etc.).
️ 9. Strikes & Disbandment
- Gangs can receive strikes for breaking rules.
- 3 strikes = gang disbandment
- Major offenses (e.g., mass RDM, hacking, severe OOC) can lead to instant disbandment and bans.
️ 10. Respect Staff Decisions
- Staff decisions are final.
- Gangs are expected to cooperate with server admins during investigations.
- Any disputes must go through a proper ticket-not arguments in OOC or general chat.
